THE FOUR TENDENCIES QUIZ

The Four Tendencies model, created by author Gretchen Rubin, describes the four very different personalities determining how we deal with external and internal expectations.

Expectations are things we act on, or not.

An example of an internal expectation would be, “I want to be a famous writer” or “I need to organize my files”. External expectations would be more like, “My boss needs this report by Friday,” or “My friend wants me to walk with her every day.”

Upon completing the quiz, you will discover your own tendency and learn how others are different from you.

We will review your tendency at your coaching session.

TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS ASSESSMENT

Transactional analysis (TA), developed by psychiatrist Eric Berne, is a form of modern psychology that examines a person’s relationships and interactions. TA can be used to address one’s dealings and communications with the purpose of establishing and reinforcing the idea that each individual is valuable and has the capacity for positive change and personal growth.

Download and fill out this assessment. Complete the scoresheet and graph demonstrating your profile. We will discuss at your next coaching session.

NEEDS AND VALUES ASSESSMENT

This assessment works to identify your own unique combination of your needs and values. Coaching is then structured around getting your needs met and orienting your life around your true values.

You will begin to see how your unique needs and values give you both your success and limit you. At the same time you will become aware that other people have different needs and values, providing new you new perspectives and understanding.

CONDITIONED/TRUE ESSENCE SELF EXERCISE

You have two facets to yourself– your conditioned self that has experienced setbacks, disappointment, failures, criticism that may have undermined your confidence and belief in yourself. This facet is sometimes referred to as ‘ego’. Your other ‘self’ is what is referred to as your True Essence or higher self, which remains unaffected by life’s ups and downs and immune from doubt and fears. In this exercise, select words to describe yourself in the chart provided and make a list under each ‘self’ column. Note what percentage you are expressing as your conditioned self vs your true essence self.

REPRESENTATION SYSTEMS ANALYSIS – The Language of Rapport

This model is derived from the Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) concepts of how we use different words to consider information and verbalize our experiences. The utilization of the NLP Representational Systems enables us to recognize accommodate another’s particular language.

As a result, you discover that one person likes to talk in visuals, the other in auditory, another by way of feelings. The moment two people have a conversation and use the same (or a neutral) representational system, the chance of getting into rapport with each other is much bigger than when they do use different terms. Complete the assessment to learn about your own preferred representation language.
After you have completed and scored your assessment, download the second file to learn more about your results. Find out which words you tend to use and how to recognize and relate to others who use a different system for expression.

NEGOTIATING FOR CHANGE SCRIPT

This worksheet outlines the seven steps to conducting conversations with individuals to amend behaviours, clarify and confirm goals and priorities, cultivate positive change and enhance buy-in and performance.

Discover how to be calm, present and open to hearing the other person’s perspective and needs so that the conversation is effective and empowering.
